keyless remote locking doors
should amber bulbs flash when locking car my flashes when unlock not locking
|
RE: keyless remote locking doors
One of the doors (trunklid or hood) is not fully closed.
|
RE: keyless remote locking doors
all doors are shut properly and trunck and hood still doent work
|
RE: keyless remote locking doors
Make sure the switches on the doors/trunk/hood are aligned correctly.
Do this: open a window then closethe doors and lock with the remote. Reach in to manually unlock the door with the open window. If the alarm goes off it's arming but not flashing. If the alarm doesn't go off the system is not arming. |
RE: keyless remote locking doors
what should be done if its not arming i dont have security on the vechile they flash when unlocking it not locking it
|
RE: keyless remote locking doors
If the lights are flashing on unlock but not on lock, the alarm isn't setting because it thinks a door (or hood or trunk) is open. One of the doors/hood/trunk switches isn't telling the computer all the doors are closed.
Like I said already, go get the switches looked at. |
RE: keyless remote locking doors
If that was the case, wouldn't an open door/trunk warning be lit on the instrument panel? Maybe not if it's the hood switch, that may be the first one to check. Well darn I answered my own question. :>

RE: keyless remote locking doors
where is the switch at for the hood
|
RE: keyless remote locking doors
What car? You never told us.
It's usually located near the passenger side strut tower. |
RE: keyless remote locking doors
it is the hood switch rubber boot is missing where can get one from
|
RE: keyless remote locking doors
Water probably got in the switch without the protective boot. The dealer may only have the exact part, but you can easily find something close and improvise. You'll just have to wire it yourself if the connector doesn't match up.
Or just cut the connector off, toss the switch, hardwire it and forget it. I've never needed a switch to tell me if my hood was open before now anyway. Let us know what you do to fix it. |

RE: keyless remote locking doors
Oh yeah, forgot about that. I've never had an alarm until now. Sorry for the bad advice.
