I recently bought a 2001 accent with 108,000 miles on it. WhAt would be the best oil to use for this car?

 

What kind of weather do you experience and what kind do you expect to have in the next three to six months??

Hot weather ... modern vehicles uses 5W20 to 5W30 to 10W30
Cold weather ...modern vehicles uses 0W20 to 5W20 to 5W30

But, the best one to use is the one written on your valve cover oil fill cap.

Conventional oil has bigger molecules and last a shorter period of time
Average oil change is between 3,000 to 5,000 miles
Synthetic oil has smaller molecules and last longer, more miles
Average oil change is between 5,000 to 7,000 miles
Depends upon your driving conditions

Synthetic oil is more expensive.
Don't forget to change the oil filter also.

 

Will synthetic oil help with how noisy this little motor is or is that normal? Or is there something else maybe I need to address? Thanks for any help.

 

I am not there to hear what the noise sounds like.
So can not say whether it is normal or not.

If engine is in need of an oil change then buy a can of Seafoam and follow directions for putting some into your engine oil.
Run for a while, 20 minutes, then change the oil.
Seafoam helps quiet some engine noises.
