02 accent: transmission acting up and cel 0121 (tps)
#23
made it down to the junkyard today. had to buy the whole throttle body for $40. still half what it cost new on ebay.
replaced the ISA and it still made a buzzing noise, but was a lot quieter. almost couldn't hear it.
the car seemed to shift better, but i'm not sure. i need to take it on another drive.
i'm a little confused why it won't throw a cel for it if i unplug the ISA.
i checked the code reader and it's not throwing a code.
i just can't believe the transmission is bad after 50k miles with my mom driving it.
it's not like she's been racing the car or anything. just normal driving.
hyundai lost a customer in us, the only reason she got a hyundai is because of the warranty. then you check the warranty info and sensors are covered 3 years or 50k miles. so even if they would have checked the car for free the sensor wouldn't have been covered.
she should have got a honda civic. at least that way i have junkyard hookups that would give me parts for free.
now we get to sell the throttle body we just bought on craigslist, hope we can recoup some of the money.

it's not that hondas are better, it's that for the last 12 years i've worked on hondas. i know them inside and out. i send so much traffic to a honda junkyard the owner practically gives me parts.
i'm just gonna stick with my muscle cars.
