So, this may sound like a really silly thing to pursue. But I'm dying of curiosity. Are the external dimensions of the 2.0 liter engine identical to the external dims of the 1.6 liter?? Will a 2.0 liter engine from a 2004 Elantra drop directly into a 2004 Accent with no mods?? I had a 2000 Elantra with a 5-speed manual, and it went FURTHER on a gallon of gas than my little Accent with the 1.6 liter. And the Elantra was really peppy!! More power, less gas. I would be THRILLED to drop a 2.0 into my little old Accent. Anyone else ever tried this?? Any success?? Easy?? Really difficult?? Impossible?? Any and all helpful info welcome and appreciated.
