Hi all...
our car has 120,000 miles on it so way out of warrantee and neither of us are working
at the moment.. due to layoffs....and the car is due for inspection....
Ive searched the forums and found a few things relating to my code problems...
Im an old school mechanic, but have not kept up with all the new stuff....
I have a code PO 722 output speed sensor... in the forums they say its a transmission sensor....
also I have a PO 422 Main Catalyst below threshold (bank1) Im guessing that means the first cayalystic converter needs replacing?
anyway... any help on identifying these parts, where they are located and what it takes to fix
them would be greatly appreciated..
Pics would be helpfull also....
thanks in advance...

Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/. You will need to register and possably download essential viewer software (all of which is free). All the information you are looking for is under the "Shop" listings. Hyundai usually provides alternative procedures for checking out sensors with a multimeter. Come back here if you have trouble finding the information you need.

To find info, you have to pick the model, year and engine of the car involved. Years are unique. If you pick the wrong model, the years listed will not match any for your car. Its fairly simple to zero in by trial and error. In this case, pick "Accent(LC)", "2000", and then the correct engine option. Alternatively, there is a box to enter your VIN and bypass the menu options. FYI, the HMA Service Site only works correctly with the MSIE browser.the site is asking if the accent is a mc lc or x3... im not sure what it is and have no idea
