Default 2001 Hyundai Accent 1.5l SOHC Starting

Hey everyone - I have a problem with my little accent and want to see what you all think it is. She won't start up - I don't get a slow crank like the battery is dead (I replaced the battery about a month ago) and I don't get a clicking sound either. I turn the key, and it's like nothing happens but a kind of low pitched whirr. I don't really know how to describe it, but the lights don't dim like it's pulling power to crank over and it really just doesn't do anything.

My car is a manual transmission, but I have a ford truck so I haven't tried pop starting it yet. Figured it can sit until I have a better idea what is going on with it.

Thoughts? and thanks for any replies.

Sounds like a starter problem to me. Maybe the solenoid. I'd start with crossing the terminals on the starter to see if it works. If not, remove the starter and have it bench tested.
