2008 Hyundai Accent GS (3dr)

I just purchased a 2008 Hyundai Accent GS (3dr) Hatchback and I'm already looking to add some minor modifications such as exhaust and intake system. I was wondering if anyone knew of a website where I can find the items I'm looking for. I've tried some of the big names but nothing for the 2008. Thanks for any help!

I also purchased the same & have the same ideas. I put a K&N air filter in. The cold air intakes I've seen, put the filter in the engine compartment, exposing the filter to all that HOT air! Not what I want. I may remove the air box bottom & drill out some material for better breathing, and at the same time, try to do this on a side where it can suck COOLER air. Not sure what I will do about the exhaust part. It's kinda nice quiet! I have other sports cars that are loud, so this one being the way it is is OK. I may look into a diff. muffler for better flow, but not for the sound of it!

I also want to do some larger tires but keep the same size wheel. Maybe 205/60-14's

I can't see how a K&N replacment filter would help. The OEM one is huge.

The OEM air box also cools the PCM. I would not be drilling holes in it so the hot air comes in.

My wife & I bought a 5 sp. manual 2008 Accent GS last December. With 8000+miles it has had no problems, squeaks, creaks or rattles. My wife loves it as she commutes to work. I thought it should get better MPG, till I recently took it on 3 daytrips over 1400, 3000, 4000, & 5500 foot moutain passes. Accent gota stunning 41.5.42.6, & 45.1MPG! Yeah, feather foot &Accent lets you pass up lots of gas stations. If I'd kept going on the 45MPG tank, I would have traveled 500+miles before needing to fill.

What road speeds were you driving? What size wheels are on the car?

Shoz....Feather foot. Simon & Garfunkle said it best. Slow down, ya move too fast. Ya got to make the morning last.

Here in Washington state you have to know how to take hills too, so you don't lose so many MPG.

On the GS Accent, the wheels are 14 inches to reduce angular momentum wheel energy.

45MPG is saving over $40 per tank full($2000 per year)compared to people getting 20MPG. Its time & long past time thatAmericadrives smaller, slower, & smarter. Accent, Prius, Yaris,Honda Fit, SmartCarpeople& otherhigh MPG people know all this....time & long past time.

I've got an '08 3 dr. Drive on flat rural roads and highways about 15 miles one way to work. Even with the tires pumped up to the max and driving at speeds under 50 mph I can't get over 38 mpg.

Your 38MPG to work is pretty good. Your work warmups are killing your MPG.

My 45MPG is Washington state daytrips which have few warmups & all warm day temperatures...no winter stuff. If you have lovely terrain, take some'FEATHER FOOTING'daytrips & you'll seemileage jump over 40MPG.You must accelerate much slower than most people. I think that low acceleration is more important than setting a low cruising speed, altho a low cruising speed is v. important to the manual Accent at highway speeds.

What rpms do you have at 55 mph? I'm at 2750.

The trouble I see it is there doesn't seem to be an overdrive in the 5 speed.
