Default 2012 Accent Air Coditioning

I'm guessing there are a few Accents out there. Anyone notice the lack of cool air, or close to it, on their vehicle ?

I know, take it to the dealer. Just wanted toask before I did that.

Rick

Yes it's weak. Specially in AZ. To get the most out of it I keep the setting on Max. Which recirculates the air cabin. After it cools enough I go back to normal and no recirculating. That prevents the air going stale and developing a funny smell months from now.

Ahh, AZ ...... mom lived there for 20+ years. Anyway, I took the car to the dealer (warranty) and cools fine now. They said it was "overcharged", but because it seemed to work somewhat erratic before that, I asked if there were any automatic mechanical valve that could be sticking. There is, but they said it wasn't the problem. Whether they replaced it or not is anybody's guess. Hopes this helps you.
Thanks for your reply. Oh yeah, the filter needs replaced if your ever gets the funny smell. Rick

AZ! It's been triple digits for many days now... My car is only 2 weeks old. If it doesn't improve or get worse, I'll have it looked at on my upcoming first service call. Thanks for the update.

I forgot to mention ....... the service dept. guy said Accents Did/Do have some issues with some AC units. So, perhalps they fixed mine so it wouldn't be added to a list of recall type stuff. Would make Hyundai look bad,(word of mouth). I'm curious, so please let me know outcome.
Good luck.

1600 Miles and Air has improved a bit. I think I may have been too judgmental with the AC. When our temps are at 113-15 and the car is sitting outside all day, it should be a given that it will take quite sometime to cool off the interior. Even at Max AC. 20-30 driving time and I can start to take it out of MAX AC and step the fan to 3 speed, then 2 by the time I get home. By then the outside temps are still over 105! Thats AZ for you.

I have the 2012 Accent SE, Ironman Silver. Added all the options except the fancy rear view mirror. I ordered a spare from the dealer. Should have it soon. I also polymer seal the paint because of the harsh AZ environment.

Oh forgot, Automatic.

Thx ! My SE is Boston Red, 6 sp Manual. Had to work hard for the mud guards. They wouldn't budge for rubber floor mats. (cloth mats came with it) 40 mpg not a reality yet, but not broke in at 5K mi.
