Got a new 2012 accent thats got a rather odd issues with the a/c. The a/c will automatically turn on when on the defrost or defrost/floor position. Also it turns on when the car starts. This never happened for the first 3 weeks.

Anyone know if I messed up a setting or do I have a lovely lemon

 

I believe you'll find that the a/c pump starting periodically is normal - my 2001 does that also. If you have any concerns with a car that new, you shouldn't hesitate to take it to the dealership & get the issue checked out - it should still be under warranty.

 

Read your owners manual. That is normal.

Selecting defrost, defrost/floor and MAX A/C always sturns the A/C on. The A/C dehumififies the air to clear the fog from the windshield quicker.
