Fuel Filter question
I want to change the fuel filter on my 2002 Accent that is located under the rear seat cushion. The HMA service website says to :
After removing the rear seat cushion, disconnect the fuel pump harness.
Start the engine. Allow it to stop by itself, then turn the ignition switch OFF.Now this is suppose to reduce the internal pressure of the fuel lines....but doesnt this make the engine run out of gas?Ive always heard if you run out of gas it could foul the spark plugs up pretty bad.Is it safe to just loosen the lines off the filter and try and keep the gas spillage to a minimum somehow or is that possible? Thanks in advance of any replies.

it will foul your plugs if you keep cranking it after it dies, but draining the fuel out of the lines is standard practice. i learned that the hard way, so follow the instructions and drain the line
