Getting an '02 Accent GL...Any common problems to look out for?
The car still has 75k miles so if any issues comes up I may be able to have Hyundai take care of it. Though what are somethings I should look out for. What are the weak points with this car?
First and most important thing to do is to take the car to a Hyundai shop and have them inspect the timing belt to see whether or not its been replaced, hopefully its been replaced, if not, do it now because it will destroy your engine if that belt snaps. I bought a used 2003 Hyundai and it costs 45.00 dollars to have Hyundai do the inspection, the car had 70000 miles and the belt was replaced by the one of the previous owners, I bought the car at a used lot and the dealers did not know if the belt had been replaced. Also its a good idea to replace all the fluids in the engine, tranny and coolant . Maybe rotate the tires too. But make sure you have that timing belt inspected first. As for weak points in the car I would have to say the paint tends to peel off of the plastic bumpers other then that the car is really dependable and ridgid.
