Default Grinding noise from front passanger tire

Hi All,

I have a strong feeling I have a wheel bearing that is out, however I wanted to confirm with someone who likly knows more than myself.

I noticed a week back that when I turn right (even ever so slightly) that the front passanger wheel makes a grinding noise on my '03 Accent. The faster I go, it tends to get higher pitched, however still very noticable. The only reason I question as to wether or not it is the wheel bearing is because if I turn left (so the pressure is on that wheel) then I don't hear the sound at all, only when I am turning right do I hear the sound.

Just wondering if this is the bearing, and if so what would be the cost to replace this? If its not the bearing what might it be?

Thanks!

Jack up the wheel, and examine it. It's impossible to tell on the internet if you need wheel bearings or not. Or take it to a mechanic and just get an estimate w/o trying to tell him what YOU think is the problem.

Hello,

I have just done my front driver bearing on my 2001 accent.
The funny part it was not grinding... but the wheels wobble a lot !

If you jack your supected wheel, just try to shake it from left to right and up to down.

And if it wobble, shake... you need a new bearing
If you are not sure..., just jack a normal wheel and compare...

Good luck!

Before you blame the bearing, check the brake pads first. It might be that simple. If the pads are good then check the bearing.
