alright guys... i just bought an intercooler for my ride.... but i was wondering if you guys know if i actually need turbo to install it... if so i'll wait for it cuz i know definitely that my engine cant take the heat from the turbo speeds besides i dont even have turbo gaskets....

 

... it was always my inpression that the intercooler is for the turbo, i dont think it has anything to do with any other past of the engine. unless im wrong it cools the exhaust before it goes into the turbo, so the intake air doesn't get heated up by the turbo. there would be absolutly not point in putting in on without the turbo there, all it would do would be to rob you of horsepower by constricting your exhuast .

i just want to say that it is still possible that i misunderstand the way an intercooler works, but im like 90% sure i know what im talking about.

 

and that was why i asked... i'd say turbos and superchargers are really confusing while i understand most mods on the other hand... but thanks though
