Hey All-
Just got a 2000 Hyundai Accent GL 1.5 and loving it so far. Having two problems: firstly, is the center "control panel" (i.e. climate control) supposed to light up? Mine is completely dark (not even glowing in the dark or anything) and I wasn't sure if this is by design or if something is wrong.

Secondly, my radio has a really weird problem. It'll be fine, maybe for about 15 to 30 minutes, then the sound fades out. Turn it off and back on, no sound at any volume. Let it sit a little while (definitely by the next day, usually just an hour or so) and it works normal again for a little while, until it fades out again. Any ideas?

Yes, the HVAC controls light up. Pull the center stack apart and check the bulbs.

 

I removed the "center facia" (as hyundai calls it) but did not see any bulbs behind it. I didn't pull it all the way out because I didn't want to yank the HVAC control cables and not be able to get them back in. Would you be willing to upload a photo of your center control (just regular, not taken apart!) so I can get an idea of where the bulbs might be? Thanks so much!
