1.Raise the steering column.
2.Loosen the 4 mounting. Disconnect the self-diagnosis connector and hood release cable and remove the crash pad lower panel.

3.Remove the glove box stopper.

4.After loosening the glove box mounting screws(3EA), remove the glove box.

5.Disconnect the intake control mode, mode control, and air mix control cable. Remove the center facia panel from the lower portion with a trim remover.

6.Loosen the 4 mounting screws and remove the audio assembly.

7.Installation is the reverse of removal.

Thank you very much for the info. Greatly appreciated!

I have another problem. if I dare ask?

Would you happen to know where the "resistor network" for the heater fan speed control is. My fan only runs on high speed.

Measure the resistance between terminals and replace the blower resistor if the measured value is not within the specified range.

Glad to help. I hope thats the problem and it's a quick fix. Also, check the fusable link in the fuse box. It's usually not one of the small fuses you're used to seeing (bottom 2 pics) but a larger, square fusable link (upper left). Looks like this:

Does this apply for my '05 Tucson as well, I have the same exact problem, fan only works on high. This is better than nothing but a certain amount of regulation is needed of course. Thanks in advance.

Basically, yes. Here are the Tucson diagrams:

Measure terminal-to-terminal resistance of the blower resistor.
If measured resistance is not within specification, the blower resistor must be replaced. (After removing the resistor)

Default Thanks

I just found the exact same diagram from an E manual my friend hooked me up with. I'll check the resistors 1st, seems like the most logical..also based on another post that's current right now in this forum. Keep you guys updated.

In my case with the Accent, I re-soldered a connection on the resistor that had come un-soldered. That was over a year ago, and it is still working fine to this day.
