Default syn leaks...

Last year I changed my 2007 Elantra to synthetic and more recently, I changed my 2007 Sonata.

Almost immediately the Sonata began leaking. I looked underneath and it looked around the oil plug, but also around the filter. I thought maybe it was just the filter and it was being pushed back to drip off the back of the pan. So I changed the filter. That didn't help any. And fairly recently, my Elantra also started the same slow drip.

Both have mobil1 in them. I have also noticed the Sonata engine seems noisier lately. That may be totally unrelated or just my imagination.

In any case, I am going to change the Sonata back to non synthetic and see if that makes a difference. If it does, I'll follow suit with the Elantra.
