Well I changed mine yesterday. The tensioner bearing was starting to throw grease. I got a kit for $50 that included the belt and both bearings.

What a PITA the accessory belt system is....

It was a lot easier taking the upper motor mount off and the taking out the bolts that hold the PS reservoir down.

But putting the two pulleys back on as one piece is tedious. I ended up gluing them together with some gasket cement and using a longer bolt to get the first bolt started.

My timing belt just went on my 2005 Accent, 1.6L. I was idling in a parking lot and it stalled. It was fairly cold out -25C or colder. Recommended interval is 96000 km or 48 months. I had 97500 and 61 months. Warranty expired 29 days before it went. I bought this car new and never gave replacing the timing belt a thought.
I am going to replace the belt and tensioner and see if it works. It is supposed to get to -34 tonight and colder tomorrow plus wind chill. I have an unheated small garage and I can push the nose inside to get out of the worst of it. Minimal tools on hand.

I started trouble shooting by checking for spark. I had spark so I checked the plugs. They were damp and smelled like gas. I could smell gas when I tried to start the engine so I was pretty sure it was getting fuel.
I took the top cover off to see if the belt was turning when the engine was cranking over. It is just 4 bolts (10 mm ) and comes off enough to see the belt. The belt wasn't turning so it must be broken down where I couldn't see it. Hope this helps someone.

Well, the belt wasn't broken. The belt has ribs on the back and they were broken off all around the belt. In the one spot so many were broken the pulley wouldn't turn it any more.
In the future I will change when recommended even if the mileage isn't up yet.
I live in Northern Alberta. I am sure a cold climate accelerates wear.
