Default Stock Radio Volume-Speed-Sensor Going Cuckoo?

In my friend's 2014 Accent, he said the volume on his stereo was constantly getting louder & softer, on any source.

I said that's odd, how about on the weekend I checkmyour setting formthat?
He didn't know there was a setting.

Sure enough there is. But when I saw what it was set on - Low - I was kind of surprised it was doing this tomhis volume. So Imset it to off. Next day my friend said, "no more up and down volume ringtone - I set it where Imwant and it stays there! Thanks"

Now on my 15 Elantra SE, I have speed-sensitive volume at low, and notice only a very slight up in volume, around 50mph, and slight down under 50 - not the extreme swings my friend experienced in his Accent.

Possible defect in the Accent radio?
