Strange RPM issue X-Post
Xpost from general help-
Hi!
I have a 12’ accent hatchback.
When I give it some “spirited” acceleration it hits 3k and jerks back and forth and sounds as though it might be cutting fuel as it does so. Just replaced crank and cam sensors, cleaned throttle, changed oil.
could this be spark/coil related? Transmission problem seems unlikely as I can ease the pedal down and it’ll smoothly go all the way past 4K, just the quick acceleration it doesn’t like.
also, in park, I can jam on the accelerator and it’ll hit the limiter at 3k as well. Never owned a Hyundai before so I figured yall would be the best to ask short of a shop!

it’s likely an issue with the spark plugs or ignition coils. Replace or check them for faults. Also, inspect the fuel filter and pump, as they can cause similar problems if they’re clogged or failing. Checking the mass air flow (MAF) sensor might also be helpful.
