Default Timing belt ..... help!

Okay, so I already know I am way over due for a belt replacement but here's my predicament. I have almost 106,000 miles on the car and have never replaced the timing belt as I was never told about this maintenence. I just recently found out that it should be change every 60k which would make me about 45k overdue. Here's the thing, I have no choice but to drive it because I use it for work and I NEED to work in order to pay for the service as I have no money saved up what so ever. I have 10 days to go before I can get the belt replaced. What can I possibly do? I mean, I don't want to drive it because I know if the belt snaps it's gonna hit a valve and I'm gonna end up having to pay thousands of dollars to get it fixed. But I have to drive it around town to do my job and I estimate about 450 miles that I'm gonna need to drive. Does anyone have a positive answer for me...or am I screwed???

Also, drive the car the bare minimum you can get away with. If you can walk, ride a bike, a bus, or catch a ride with a friend for those few days, it would definitely be worth it. And yeah, say a little prayer.

The good news is that if you make it to the service date and get the belt replaced before it breaks, you will have no lasting effects of waiting. Just don't let it go like that again!
