RE: Timing belt replacement questions

Novaresource,
I am aware of it now. I keep all my vehicles maintained pretty well I would say. The car isnt mine so what happened was a few weeks ago I got a call from my brother saying his car wouldnt start. It ended up being the Crank position sensor. While I was replacing it I changed spark plugs, oil, and I noticed his belts were looking a little cracked. I asked when was the last time he replaced any of the belts and he thoughtfor toolong, and I told him if you want to keep driving this car, you need to replace the timing belt asap and all the other belts. I did tell him he is probly the luckiest person to drive a car that long without the belt slipping or snapping. I will keep his car maintained for him as he is not the type to get his hands dirty. Thanks

I didn't realize it wasn't your car. Yes, I'd say your brother is very lucky. He sounds a lot like my brother. I have to maintain his car for him because he doesn't have a clue about cars or maintenance.

I figure his laziness helps me by being able to learn (at least in this case) Yeah he is lucky. It didnt take much more than patience and common sense and asking questions. I found the right place to ask questions here !!! I seem to be an "inquisitive idiot" hahaha
