Default tire question for 2001 accent gs

hi,
this is my first post on this forum. i recently bought a 2001 hyundai accent. i have a set of snow tires on rims that i used with my old hyundai elantra. the snow tires are 195/60 r14....... i know that the oe tires for the accent are 175/70-13....just wondering if my snow tires would fit on my accent even though they are bigger....it is only an inch, but i dont want to go through the trouble of putting them on only to find out they are to big. if anyone knows anything about this i would REALLY appreciate it....thanks a lot.

Default RE: tire question for 2001 accent gs

Providing the bolt pattern is the same you shouldn't have any clearance issues with a 1" larger tire diameter. Since the tires are small to begin with it will affect speedo accuracy. You can verify that here: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

If you don't know the bolt pattern you can go to www.tirerack.com and search for both vehicles under 'Wheels', select any aftermarket wheel and it will tell you the bolt spacing on the left side of the browser (or a google search might work even better!).
