Default tire question

I was thinking about upgrading my tires. I want to remove my factory 13's and get a larger more appealing size. What is the largest size tire I can buy that won't need any modifications to the car. Also if I get a larger size would i need to upgrade brake pads or struts or something else?

Hello Shawnboy,

I upgraded my 2001 Accent's factory 13's to 16" rims with 205/45R/16 Falken Ziex tires. I put performance Bendix brake pads on the front, but there is little difference to the stopping power. Accents have pretty ****ty brake systems to begin with, so it wouldn't hurt to upgrade, but that can get expensive. Allow yourself a little extra stopping room and you should be fine. Check out www.edgeracing.com for some really great deals on rims and tire packages. Good luck.

im not positive on this but i think the max rim size for an accent is around an 18 but that would be a really low profile tire if u ask me the 16s with a nice tire looks nice
