Hey everyone,

I'm new on this site and definitely new to the accent. I have a 97 accent that is as base as you can get. It has been working perfectly fine for the 2 months that i have had it and then this morning it decided it doesn't want to start.
So this is what happens....turn the key to ignition and the dash lights come on..so therefore the battery is ok. But there is no turning over from the starter? there is no click or anything. I go under the hood with the key still turned to ignition and there is a buzzing coming from the Fuel Pressure Regulator (i believe thats what it is on this car). It's attached by one hose to the IM and one hose to the intake tube. and there is a wire thats connected to it as well.
This is my daily driver so i NEED this fixed fast and don't have much money to throw at it. So anyone that has some good info on whats wrong with it. PLEASE HELP.

if there is no clicking when you turn the key it is probably your starter that has gone bad

 

Agreed.

 

Sounds like a problem with you ignition module...it isnt getting any spark to turn the car over.

 

I doubt that's it; it really sounds like a starter or starter solenoid.

 

well that would be nice if that was the case. I brought it in last week the day it happened..cuz it wouldn't start in my driveway..so it gets towed there..and low and behold, the damn thing starts. So i get them to check it out..and they replace a connector on my battery...saying it was that. But then, today..the same thing happens AGAIN! but this time i was at work..at least i got a full day of work in..So i get the car towed..and once again..it gets there and it starts.
I want to scrap the piece a ****..i can't stand things like this!
