I have a 2004 Santa Fe 2.7, 2wd. Vehicle sat for several months. Required a jump to start then drove about 50 miles, turned off and wouldn't restart. (dash lights only). Charged battery overnight and vehicle started fine for the next couple of days. Now will not start with jump either. Engine not cranking at all dash lights etc. only, . Replaced battery, alternator and starter checked out fine. Replaced neutral safety switch. Tried to start in neutral, reverse, etc. no go. vehicle starts up only when manually jumped the starter. Replacing ignition coil next. Any advice appreciated. Thank You

 

I believe you may have a starter relay pbm.

 

Update.. A few weeks ago we went ahead and took vehicle to a shop. It was determined there that this vehicle had an after market security system installed on it. We just bought this Santa Fe and had NO insight/contact with the previous owner about the history of this car, therefor we had no idea. Nothing in the wiring looked out of the ordinary & this wasn't something that we could not visibly identify. All wiring visible looked factory contained and not "messed with." The shop bypassed this system and the vehicle has been starting up just fine ever since.
