Headlights dim and go out intermittently
I have a 2006 Azera. My headlights dim and go out while driving, almost causing accidents. One dealership service department told me this was normal, another told me I needed a battery cable. Has anyone else found out what the real cause of this problem is. From what I've learned, there's been 13 other same problems called in to the National organization for safety. Help somebody. I'm having trouble getting Hyundai to fix this problem without my paying for this defect.
Install the updated XXXXX-3K111 battery cable... I want to say 98150-3K111 (I looked at 1 on parts shelf yesterday)
Oldest electrical problem in Sonata 3.3 and Azera
Remove the short negative cable and grind fender panel to bare metal, paint is an insulator.. smear some grease on the bare metal and re-attach cable
Remove ground strap at left frame rail by battery tray and do the same grind the paint off and apply grease and re-connect cable
After doing all the forementioned work, you will now find a 14.35+ charge volt at battery with engine running.
