Like I said earlier, I'm going to ask the dealer if the startup rpm can be set lower.
If you are such an expert on cars, why can't YOU set the rpm lower yourself?

There was a day when I could and did. That's been gone for a couple decades now. Idle speed, startup idle speed, fuel mixture, etc. is all now controled by the onboard computer. Changes have to be made using computer equipment that can read and reprogram the car's onboard computer.

It's true that you'll be able to "rev" your engine higher earlier with a thinner base oil, but that's usually at the expense of metal-to-metal separation at normal operating temperatures.
Incorrect. Thinner oil when cold will flow to the areas quicker to provide protection.

Reread the quoted statement. The first part sez the same thing your response sez, and the second part addresses steady state operating conditions which you did not appear to notice.

Do you not know what multi-viscosity oil is? A thinner 5w30 thinner oil will flow better WHEN COLD than a 10w30 but will still have the same protection at normal operating temperatures.

is your vehicle "clattering" on cold start? If so it may be a problem with the timing chain tensioners. Your engine is a "bucket shim" type valve train and shouldn't need to pressurize much on cold start to get rid of rocker noise. Your oil system should pressurize to 45-50 psi within a couple of seconds.
