Gents,

When I try to start my wife's '06, it takes a little bit longer to start than in the past (used to take only 2 turns or so, now it takes 3 or 4). When it does finally ignite, it's a rough ignition and then it goes to normal.

Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

 

All the time or just after a gas refill?
Have the computer scanned for codes.

 

Pretty much all the time during a cold start. A few guys at other forums mentioned spark plugs, and at 89,000 miles they have yet to be changed. I'll start with that.

Sounds like your losing fuel pressure while the car sits. Verify by connecting fuel pressure gauge. Start car then shut off. Pressure should remain, if drops to 0 after shut off, your fuel pump is bad.
