Default '08 elantra heat stays on

My '08 elantra limited (with 120k) heat stays on and gets unbearable quickly.

Ah....can you give a little more detail? Is the temp dial turned all the way to cool? Have you turned the mode selector to OFF? What is the temp reading for the engine?

I've tried the temperature settings on max and min, turned the system off, no change. The engine temp is normal. My only relief is to turn off the fan and open a window. It's a climate control system, you set the temp and it keeps it there with heat or a/c depending on the need.

So you have the automatic climate control. Something is probably wrong with the temp sensors or the control module. Probably won't be cheap to fix.

woulkd it show up as a fault on a OBD scanner? I'd probably go and buy one.
