Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default 2000 Elantra wont start after new transmission

Just rebuilt 5 sp transmission and put a new pressure plate in my 2000 elantra now the car will turn over but won't start. There is no fire from the coil and no power to the fuel pump or rear defroster. Before the transmission went (after owning it for less then 2 months) the car was like brand new. If anybody has any idea what to do I could really use the help.

Tough one!

Firstly have you got any power to the coil? If so then the coil possibly needs replacing. If you havn't then I would think you have damaged something when you removed or replaced the transmission. Could be something as simple as a loose connection, which could be the same for the fuel pump. With regard to the rear defroster I don't know where those wires run. Chris
