Hi all,

I want to replace my cassette radio with a CD radio player on my 2002 Elantra. I purchased a used rCD adio from another 2002 Elantra.

I gave the dealer the VIN number of the car the CD player came from and he provided a 6 digit code. The dealer rep stated that he input the VIN but that he was not sure it was legit.

Does anyone know how many digits the code should be? After I got back from the dealer and did some research on my own it appears that most codes are 4 or 5 digits.

One thing that I did notice on the printout the dealer provided was that the last 6 digits of the vin were needed but ir appears as if the dealer input the entire VIN number. I don't know if this makes a difference so I thought I would ask.
