Question 2005 Elantra ABS Sensor on the axle?

I had my axle, hub and wheel bearing replaced (passenger side) and now during an inspection I was told that my ABS Sensor was hanging and not connected to anything. Is the abs sensor supposed to connect to the Axle somehow?

Thanks. I appreciate it. The mechanic told me there was no place on the axle for it to connect, so the wrong axle must have been installed at some point.

Well, it's not actually on the axle (technically a half-shaft) itself. The sensor mounts to the spindle, just above the tone ring that is part of the half-shaft and CV joint.
