2012 elantra has issues going into reverse
I have a 2012 elantra base model. It's manual. I got it like 2 weeks ago. It's only got 114000 km on it. Whenever the car isn't warmed up and I try to put it into reverse even if the clutch is fully pressed in it grinds and I have to force it into reverse. Then pulling it out of reverse I have to actually yank it. First gear is kinda stiff when it isn't warmed up as well. Once it's warmed up 0 issues

its a stick shift excellent choice by the way if its the 1.8 engine you need 2 bottles if its 2.0 liter engine You need just over 2 bottles of API GL-4 75W85 MT fluid.
best one i would use is Redline MT 75W85

If the clutch isn’t fully disengaging, it might cause grinding when shifting into reverse or first gear. This could be related to the clutch adjustment or the hydraulic system. Another possibility is that the transmission fluid is too thick when cold, which can affect shifting. Checking the fluid level and condition might help. Lastly, if the synchronizers in the transmission are worn, they could be causing stiffness until everything warms up
