I just replaced the trunk latch with a brand new one but when I close the trunk it still won’t latch to lock the trunk. Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem? Thank you for your expertise in advance!

Just a few questions,

When you replace the latch, did you open the latch to receive the other piece?
Will pulling on the remote trunk release will open it??
Were the cables loose or tight for the remote trunk release??
Does the mating piece go far enough into the latch to activate the latch to close?

Thanks for the tips
Thank you so much for the tips! We did hit the trunk release at the bottom of the driver seat and it did open the latch but when we close it the latch is not mating with the bottom ring to activate the latch to lock. We viewed it by pulling the back seats down and watching what happened when a another person closed the trunk. How do i make them match? It seems as thought the mating piece is not going far enough in.

Can you adjust the position of the latch?
Or, did you get the right latch for your vehicle?
