Question 2013 Elantra TPMS issue/questions

I have a 2013 Elantra sedan base model. About a year and a half ago, I had the wheel tpms sensors replaced. Some of the weird issues I've had since then with the tpms system, include tpms light coming on, flashing for the first minute or so, staying on for 10 miles or so of freeway driving, then turning off. The first time this happened, I dropped by a Discount Tire (which is who did the install of the sensors) where they checked the tire pressure and all 4 tires were fine. This has happened several other times. Every time the light comes on, it flashes for a minute or so, which leads me to believe that one or more of the sensors have lost their mind(s). I've been back to the sensor installer when this happens, if I happen to be near one of their branches, where they check the tires pressures and usually they're correct. There have been several times that the tire pressures were ok and the only way we were able to get the light to go out was for them to bring out their "retraining" tool and scanning all four sensors then connecting to the ODB port and retraining the system, which immediately turns the light out, however how long it will stay out is anyones guess..

The car (at 163K miles) still runs great, but this is driving me nuts. I've purchased a aftermarket tpms system whose sensors screw on the valve stems and the cosole has a solar panel to power it. The nice part is this console shows the ACTUAL tirepressure in each time rather the stock system that turns on a light and says "guess which tire is low"...

Since I'm not familiar with how these sensors "talk" to the rest of the system, I'm wondering if the problem is with the other end of the signal path of the sensors. Also will putting these aftermarket sensors on the valve stems throw the tire balance out?

Thanks1!!
