where is the a/c air filter located....................is there such a things in a 2005 Elantra??

 

Do you mean the cabin filter?.. it should be behind the glove box.

 

Yep, that's right. You open the glove box, release the little return cord (the string that keeps it from opening too quickly), and the two stops, and the glove box opens all the way. Behind that is a metal bar held in with two screws. Behind the bar is a door that goes to the air cleaner. Some 05s have a filter in there, and some don't. Mine happened to come with one. If you need to buy one, you can get it from the dealer, or for a slightly lower price I think Purolater sells one at auto parts stores. (If there is no listing for Elantra, try Tiburon; they use the same filter.)
