Another issue with 2003 Elantra...Emergency Brakes
I have a 2003 Elantra Hatchback GT.In the last year I have had nothing but problems...yes, they are all under warranty but take it from me...you aren't thinking about that when your car breaks down (as it has happened to me three times in the last year). Frankly, I am scared to drive it now.Belts breaking,I have had the struts fully replaced, the AC just stopped working, my sunroof fell apart, my doors would not open, my headlights flickered off and on, the hatch stopped staying up, the radiator cracked...the list goes on. I take good care of this car (when it runs). Most of my driving is done on highways. The latest thing is my parking break. It is now frozen.I have had cars with standard transmissions for years and have lived where it snows constantly and salt is used. I have been told my some of the guys that I work with that the SALT could have caused this???? Can anyone give input?

And yes, salt is a contributing factor.
