I am new here, and need a bit of assistance. My son and I are going to upgrade my stereo and try to fix a broken power window motor in my 2000 Elantra.
We have taken the screws out around the edge of the door, as well as the screw in the release handle, the power window controls, the clips on the bottom and the screw in the arm rest. But for some reason, we still can't get the panel off. What's the trick to get loose around the release handle? We're missing step there.....
From Hyundai Service Manual (sorry about the poor image quality but maybe this will help- check out steps 3, 4 & 5):
1. Remove the door window regulator handle and then remove clip using a piece of cloth (Manual type only).
2. Remove the quadrant inner cover.
3. Remove the rear outside mirror mounting screws and then remove the outside mirror. Disconnect the remote control connector (electric type only).
4. Remove the door inside handle.
5. Remove the screws from the door trim and bezel side cover.
6. Insert a screwdriver between the trim fasteners and door panel to pry it loose. Disconnect the connector (Power window motor, Power window main switch, Door lock actuator).
