Driver's side mirror popped out of housing
I ran my car through a carwash a couple of days ago and as it came out, the driver's side mirror popped out of the back plate. It will pop back in but is really loose and will fall after a while. Wondering if this is possible to adhere back on and how to do so or figure out if I should just get another mirror. This is an issue with the 2012 Elantra is what I was told

Look at the center piece of mirror, it is broken and missing a piece that holds it
On the mirror itself you have two white studs that go into the two holes They are meant to be just tight enough to move the mirror but let loose when pushed So when someone is pushing the button for too long it won't just break This is why it will come off after a little while It is the center piece that broke off that hold the mirror tight together |

How did you fix the mirror? Same thing happened to mine. I Can’t find anything online on how to fix it..

There are different types of adhesives for different materials. Not sure if the broken part was nylon or ABS plastic. They both require a different adhesive and maybe with the correct adhesive it might have been reusable.

Congrats on the new Sonata – awesome choice!

Which part?

I unfortunately ended up having to order the part from the manufacturer and replacing it myself. The piece holding my mirror was too broken to just fix

I'm sure this is not a new problem and the dealership either replaced the entire assy which is quicker and costs more .Don't know if those parts are available separately where you buy parts..
