Default Elantra 2015 ignition problem

Hi,
I've been having problems starting my Elantra 2015. each morning, it takes 2 or 3 tries to start and whenever it does, it starts shaking and shoking and shuts down. the only way to keep it running is to give it some gas. after that, all is fine.
this problem happens only in the morning and i went to the mechanic and he said its a battery problem. to my knowledge, if a battery is dead the car won't start or it will start and stay that way.
does any one have a clue to what can cause this.
Thanks in advance

Did you notice the color of any smoke coming out of the exhaust hen the engine is shaking?

I ask this because we don't know at this time if it is fuel or ignition related..
Your answer might help shed some light on which area to examine further.

When an engine is cold, normal/closed loop functions are not in charge. The engine runs on preset bits of info rec'd from throttle position , engine temp, amount of incoming air, available voltage and a few others. One of the pre/set pieces of info coming to the computer are either incorrect or one of the components is malfunctioning.

A good scan tool that can provide data stream info is usually required to see just what is happening OR not happening !
