Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Elantra Tire Sizing

My 2016 Elantra has 195x65x15 steel wheels & Hankook tires. Got a line on fairly blingy (over the top... but) alloy wheels from a Chrysler 300 with Pirelli Pzero Nero tires. The tires are 225x45x17 inch. Are the tires just too wide to function on the Elantra without scraping.... even if I concentrated NOT to turn the steering wheel to the locks? How about the rear wheels?

Quick answer: probably will fit. However, tire size is only one factor. You need to know the wheel widths and offset to get a true reading. What are the widths and offsets of the 2 wheels?

Also, are you sure the bolt pattern and center bore of the new wheels are the same as the old wheels?

The wheels (225x45x17) came off a Chrysler 300, which is the same as Dodge (5x114.3) bolt pattern & center bore, which is the same as Elantras. I just found out that standard 17 inch Elantra tires are 215x45x17 inch (I had thought they were 205x45x17). So tire width Elantra clearance may more readily accommodate the 225 than I thought. Think the offsets are similar, but not sure. I don't know the width of the wheel. I have heard that Elantra standard width for 17 inch wheels is 7 inches.
Now, altho the above wheels are blingy (altho older) if you like solid chrome, another set of wheels has caught my fancy & they are 50 miles closer! The problem with the "new" wheel discovery are the wheels are 8 inches in width, whereas, as stated above, standard Elantra 17 inch width is 7 inches. So..... choices, choices.... or are they not choices.

Update: Never got the Chrysler 300 wheels/tires. But did get other ROX 8 inch wheels with WORN Yokohama Geolander tires in 225x55x17 inch size. Barely fit the front wheel wells (actually touched mudflaps in slow speed sharp turns). Adored them & the WORN Geolanders still went 12,000 miles with sure handling & braking. Have 215x55x17 inch tires to fit the front now. Also have used tires/wheels in 215x45x18 inch size. With my addiction to over-sized tires, I almost feel the 215x45x18 tires are too small. Eventually, I'll put on, either 225x45x18 inch tires or 205x70x15 inch tires..... or something else!
Also, on our manual 2008 Hyundai Accent with standard 175x70x14 inch tires, put over-sized 205x65x15 inch tires/wheels on the front. RPMs have dropped 260 at 60MPG. Alright!! Handling & braking are snappy. I'm a feather footer, so wear & tear, due to improved performance is no problem. Gentle as I drive, I keep the "performance" only for emergencies. Also, the over-size tires will not have enough clearance to accommodate snow chains. Our old smaller wheels/tires (with chains) will have to be used for winter.
