Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Hyundai Elantra

Hi,
I just bought Hyundai Elantra MPi 1.6 Petrol motor 130 HP.
The car is ok, but I have encountered some difficulties during driving in slow speed. For example, when I want to accelerate from 1st to 2nd gear I usually get the car very unstable (the rpm of the motor are going up and down, causing to have neck problems if you know what I mean. I don't know the right word for this behavior of the car, so I'm trying to explain it ) . Also, if I drive the car in first gear very slow and release the gas and hit the gas again, I'm getting the same result. It is not very convenient to drive like this not only for me, but also for the passenger.
So, do you have some suggestion what can it be? Like the gas paddle is very sensitive or something... Can this be adjusted somehow?

Thanks in advance...

It sounds like the throttle position sensor???
Take TPS out and put Ohm meter on it and make it go through the entire range
If meter reading jumps and seems unstable then it is faulty .. replace
If not then it may be the IAC (idle control valve)
Take brake clean spray and spray unit and manipulate the valve til free movement

Remember this is all guess work
