My horn only works sometimes
I have a 2001 Elantra and my horn has been working only when it wants to for the past year. Now it has finally died. Sometimes when I press the horn it will eek out a noise but nothing loud ever happens. I called a dealership and they said it will cost 93 dollars just to look at it!
Please help!

RE: My horn only works sometimes
You can get a replacement horn pretty cheaply ($20 or less) and they are pretty easy to install. All that is needed is a phillips screwdriver and a socket set (or crescent wrench). If you get an actual Hyunai OEM horn, it should just plug in; if you get an aftermarket horn, you might have to splice some wires.
That's assuming it's the horn itself. You could check the horn by taking it out and running wires to the battery directly to see if it beeps or if it sounds weak like you normally hear. If it's weak or doesn't work, then replacing the horn should do it. Otherwise, it could be the switch in the steering wheel or a connection along the way.
If the horn is the problem, email me and I might be to get you one.
