Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default no air flow control - 2008 elantra

purchased used 6 months ago. 58,000 mi. awesome car, btw.

always had an air-flow funk, most notably a 'clicking' in the dash on passenger side that was related to which air-flow selection was chosen.

nothing made much sense - it would mostly click all the time and the airflow would change around somewhat but generally maintained control over defrost - dash - feet, etc.

but now, just when i need defrost, there is NO change in air-flow - everything comes out of the middle regardless of selection. and there is no clicking.

i've seen reference to vacuum, air-flow blender, various things. looking for some good insight, and i appreciate any response.

learned how to get by (barely) by turning on fan to high and manually closing the dash vents - this forces a little warm air up through the defrost vents.

thanks again!

Did you happen to find a solution to the air-flow control problem ? I have the same problem with my 2003 Elantra. The rotary switch turns just fine but doesn't change the direction of air-flow.
