Timing belt

Probably about standard. About 6 years ago, my mechanic changed my Ford Festiva (Mazda engine in Kia body, owned by Hyundai) belts, pulleys & water pump for $250.

New York State ... that sound about right for changing the timing belt and water pump and pulleys. Why change the water pump? Well, if one is changing the timing belt then the water pump is right there. Preventive maintenance can save you money and headaches.
Just a thought. Not saying anyone should do it that way.
Edit: Went to a big name garage. Priced the (only) timing belt change. $450 plus tax
Pulley and water pump were extra.

Been thinking about changing my timing belt on my 2001 Elantra AT 2.0L
There are some good videos on youtube
It always seems easy until I run up against a frozen bolt
Then I swear up and down that I'll never work on the car again.
