Fuel cap Cover - does it pop open?
ET owners, When you pull the fuel lever does your cover pop open or just sit there?
I've had my ET for 5 months and could have sworn it would pop up just enough to let my finger pull it open the rest of the way. Now it releases but I need to stick the key in there to get it to start to open.
I played with this a couple of times. It won't open when I try to pry it. Once I pull the lever it unlocks it but it doesn't pop out enough to let me open it.
What's yours doing?
This doesn't seem like a big enough deal to take it to the dealer right away but I'll certainly ask when I run in for an oil change next month.

Williama - Interesting that your fuel door lasted 5 months then quit working with the release. Our Touring was 6 months old when the same thing happened. Pull the floor handle, a click but the fuel door didn't pop open. I took it to the dealer after two fillups (hard to get the door open). They found the door was out of adjustment. Readjusted the door and we have had no problems with the fuel door since.

Thanks for sharing. It's good to know it didn't only affect me. I'll take the car in this afternoon to get looked at. It's close enough to get an oil change so might as well do it now before going on vacation next week.
The dealer said the spring came off and they just adjusted it. It was such a nice suprise to see the doord swing wide open. My previous cars didn't have the lever so I was used to opening the door.
This ET when purchased new had this issue. The fuel cap cover didn't pop open. It would just unlock and barely open enough to let your finger open it.
So check your fuel cover doors. It should swing wide open

Is it possible to adjust the spring by yourself or do you have to bring it to the dealer?
(SIDE NOTE: The service at our dealer has gone downhill after it was purchased by another car family. Although we bought the car there, we just do not feel welcome...)

Interesting to see this. We've definitely noticed some wimpy fuel door releasing... maybe we'll talk to the dealer about it next time its in.
The only real issues we're having with the car thus far are the fuel door and some stereo troubles that we have to make an appointment for. A couple of unusual pinging noises (not from engine) that we've been unable to replicate and weren't that alarming, as well.
