Default i30 side light removal - Help!

Hi Guys,
Looking for a bit of help. I have an 2009 czech made i30. I have been unable to remove/replace the side light.
Is there a trick to this? Anything I have read says it just pops out, but I have tried pliers and all sorts to remove this but it wont release. It spins in circles but wont release!
I have all the tools to do this but just need advice.
Thanks

No, which light on the side? The front (part of the headlights) the side of the fender, the light on the mirror, the rear (part of the tail lights).

If I understand correctly, the Czech 2009 Hyundai i30 was released as the Hyundai Elantra Touring in the USA. For the USA specific parts, I was able to pull the following from our parts database:

2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring Left Hand Head Lamp Assembly

2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring Right Hand Head Lamp Assembly

You should be able to see from the diagrams that the bulb is just in the socket. Maybe you are spinning the dust cap? 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring - Dust Cap Assembly

Hi Chris,

Yeah that appears to be exactly what I'm doing. Even when I pull with all my strength I cannot get the dust cap out, to let me remove the bulb. Must just be too stiff.

Might need to take to a garage. Dont want to smash the bub or break the dust cap
