No cruise?!
According to Hyundai, it is impossible to get cruise control on an Elantra Touring in the U.S. if you want a manual transmission -- it's not offered on the most loaded version of the car.
Their solution -- this is what I was told directly from Hyundai customer service -- go to an aftermarket shop and get it installed. It doesn't void the warranty unless the cruise unit does something to damage the car, but putting aftermarket bits on a brand new car seems insane to me.
Anyone know what i30 parts or Canadian parts would be needed to add cruise? Both the the i30 in Europe and the Canadian Elantra Touring come with it on the manual transmission variant (or at least cruise is an option).

First, please don't make duplicate posts.
Second, do you know for a fact that cruise control is available on manual i30's? I highly doubt you be able to add it even if it was. It would be more cost effective just to add an aftermarket kit.

I have a fully loaded SE 5spd with cruise control.
I'm still surprised cruise isn't even an option on the GLS and GS -- especially when it's standard on the automatic versions of the car.

When I was considering the GLS 5spd it seemed the most popular/best aftermarket cruise control option was the Audiovox line. They have a vacuum controlled device, and a more expensive electronic device. Just some food for thought if and when you go that route.
