I can't tell if I am imagining this or not. I thought the ride for the ET was reasonably smooth when I first bought it. Now I really feel every bump. Does this car have a bumpy ride? Am I just noticing something that has always been there? My wife says she feels like the car is shaking pretty badly.

The ET has a tight ride, but it shouldn't be harsh. In other words, sporty but it shouldn't be a bother. You might want to have the tire balance checked, and also be sure the parking brake cable hasn't seized up. I got the sensation of shaking when I accidentally left the parking brake on.

It is a different feel than an out of balance tire. It is almost like it gets into a harmonic frequency bounce when going over the cold-created cracks in the pavement. (For those who don't live where things get very cold every year, asphalt has a tendency to get thin cracks every 50 feet or so in places like Minnesota in the winter).

I'm wondering if it's just the cold affecting the shocks. They will get stiffer in cold weather. You might also consider a soft sidewalled snow tire for cold weather. They're made with softer compounds than an all-season tire. Try the same road on a warm day, and let us know what happens.

I think you may be right. The ride does seem to become less comfortable as the temperature drops. At around zero degrees F, it is downright uncomfortable, and remains so throughout my 20 minute commute to work.
