Default Is their a 2012 mid season change up on the Touring Line.

Hello everyone. I'm near hear and seeking some information.

I negociated a price for a 2012 Elantra Touring GLS last Saturday Sept 24th 2011. I was asked for a two colours. I chose black first and titanium second. On Wednsday Sept 28th I signed the contract it says black. On Thursday Sept 29th my sales rep called to say that Hyundai has revamped the trim lines and now the GLS comes with 16" rims versus 15" rims and a sunroof as standard equipment and as a result the price will go up $850. If I want a first run of the 2012 Touring GLS the only colour availible is Chilie Red which I hate.
First of all has anyone heard of a revamping of the trim lines for 2012? I can't belive that as there is no update on Hyundai Canada's web site. The Trim options were the same as last week.
Secondly I can't believe that the only colour availible on a 2012 is red.

I wan't to walk away from the deal but my wife says the deal is too good to pass up but she's agreeing with me that the red is hideous, she thinks they should put us in a second run 2012 in the colour of our choice free of charge.

What should I do? Help!

Thanks

for the 850$ difference there must be more than slightly bigger wheels and a sunroof.
Maybe if you get more details on the new add-ons you will find this increase in price is not so bad after all.
The price difference is pretty much the same as the "sport package" on mine and i got heated seats and better seats adjustments as wellas bluetooth

If you negotiated the deal and signed the contract I would hold the dealer to it. A deal should be a deal.

I don't think there was a mid season change. There was a change from 2011 to 2012 though.

In Canada, the models were:

2010, 2011
L
GL
GLS
GLS Sport (sunroof, alloy wheels)

2012
L
GL
GLS (sunroof, alloy wheels)

well, I have no useful info in regards to changes in mid 2012, but I'm also in the process of receiving a car from them. I could of came home with a car a week ago and not ask people to give me rides everywhere but I'm going to have this car for 6-10+ years and the were trying to sell me black or blue. Even though we don't want to pay more for our cars you have to realize your paying A LOT of money, you should be getting what you want. if it were 2k cheaper or something ok, but I think its bs they try to get you to buy colors you don't like, even cars you don't like. Get what you want, we all should, its a big purchase. Good luck and be cautious on the price hike, your waiting on a car like me, that's inconvenient, and you can still go somewhere else.

~soon to be an owner.
